About the Magazine

dommee.co.uk is an independent British magazine about expeditions and the outdoors. It explains the polar regions and the history of exploration, rowing and sailing the open sea, the law and the hills of Britain, and the skills that keep walkers, sailors and paddlers safe, in plain words.
Every guide is checked against primary sources: the Met Office, the RYA, the RNLI and HM Coastguard, Ordnance Survey, national park authorities, the NHS and mountain rescue, museums and reference works. The sources are listed under each article, and facts that change, such as fees, rules and prices, are marked as correct at the time of writing.
The domain began as the expedition website of the adventurer Dom Mee. His dispatches are kept in the expedition archive; the magazine is not affiliated with him.
Partner material, when it appears, is labelled as such and kept apart from the editorial sections. Photographs are freely licensed and credited under each picture and on the photo credits page.
